Do I need to have experience to join?
No, you don't need experience! In fact, we encourage new members to join the fencing community. We have plenty of experienced fencers, including our Vice President and Weapon Captains, who will be more than happy to teach you.

Do I need to buy equipment?
Although many fencers prefer to have their own equipment, it is not necessary that you purchase your own. We have club equipment for you to use during practices and competitions.

Is it safe?
Fencing is a very safe sport. If you follow all the safety information taught by the club, it's one of the safest sports out there! Fun fact: Fencing is safer than ping pong

I'm brand new to fencing! Can I still compete?
Of course! The best way to learn is by participating in a real competition. We understand how intimidating competitions may be, especially at the collegiate and national level, but we also hold many local tournaments perfect for newcomers.

How much are dues, and what will they cover?
Dues vary by year; however, they cover most, if not all, expenses for the year. This includes: use of club equipment and armory space, practice space, travel and hotel expenses, and select social events.
